Hey folks! I am applying to 4UR ranch in Colorado. I was wondering if any body has worked there or has heard anything about it. I just want to get some more insight on what the place is like! Thanks so much!
I have not been there, but I've heard of it. It's respected by both people in the business and by their guests. Once you're in the ranch world you hear some things about some other ranches. If I were looking for a summer ranch, I would definitely consider them. Sorry, I can't give you any specifics about actual working there.
I have not been there, but it is close to a very cool town called Durango, which also has a ski resort if you are of a mind to spend winter in Colorado (same for Telluride and Silverton). The scenery looks awesome... Ask about the schedule of hours because on their website they mention salary. That often means a lot of work for what you get (make sure you make enough to save a decent amount of $$$ for the winter).... not knocking them :0) , just speaking from experience.
On their website they also say they don't accept applications or resumes but instead prefer to talk to the prospective employee. So in order to apply, you are going to have to talk to them. They like young and enthusiastic employees so be aware of that on your interview...show enthusiasm :0). From your pic, I think you would make a fine fit for them (enthusiastic smile). Make sure that smile projects in your interview...Good luck, amiga.
I have worked there, and it is awesome. I have also worked at other ranches after having worked there, and nothing has quite stood up to what I experienced there. They have a very good thing going, and it is something that many ranches often imitate, but none actually achieve. I would highly suggest working there. I am hoping to go back there this summer too, its just that good! Let me know if you have any specific questions!
Wow, I am so glad that I found someone that worked there! I am really interested in it, I actually have a phone interview with them on Wednesday. My biggest question for you is how they pay, I mean it's not a huge deal because I really just want a new experience but the money is important.
Katie,
They just changed their pay. They used to start at $1000/mo plus a 2-3 thousand $ bonus at the end. Now they removed the bonus and pay hourly. It is not bad though, blelieve me, I have crunched numbers, and it comes to $1601/mo before taxes, not bad. I hope this helps! How did your interview go?

Hi. I am thinking about going there this summer with my family(4 kids). I can't find out much about it. Is it considered a high end ranch? Last sumer we stayed at Lost Creek in Wyoming and we loved it. I do not repeat so I am looking for something different. Where else have you worked and what made this so much better. I want a small upscale dude ranch. I do not think my kids are going to fly fish all that much. My other choice is the Home Ranch. Do yo know about that one?
Thanks.
