Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!

I just received employment offer for position at Mammoth Hot Springs. Has anyone worked there or planning to? I'm especially interested in knowing what the dorm situation is like in order to plan what items to bring along. Are irons and boards available in the laundry facilities, are coffee makers permitted in rooms? I visited Mammoth last Fall and stayed at the Hotel, but of course being a guest and working there are two different circumstances. Any input as to how Xanterra selects roommates would also be helpful. Thanks for any info!

Better pack some warm weather gear.. they got 10 inches of snow on Sunday.
I'm amazed by the current level of comfort provided to YP employees. Back in 1969 when I worked out of West Thumb for YPC, I lived in a ramshackle cabin with no insulation and cracks between the clapboard you could see through. Every day, a single fake log was delivered to provide heat in my woodstove. There was one bare light bulb hanging from the ceiling. It was wonderful.
David,
Where are you this year?
I worked for Xanterra at Bryce Canyon. They said they would find a roomate that was compatible. However, I had a roomate that got up at 3:00 AM. Hopefully, if your roomate doesn't work out you can possibly make a swap. We were allowed to have micros, TV, and other electrical items in the rooms. Check with your HR person at Mammoth Hot Springs. They can answer your questions. I have also worked at Yellowstone with a different company and am planning to return this summer with my wife. The experience of Yellowstone for the summer should far outway any inconvienences with roomates. Good luck and have a wonderful summer.
