I just made the drive in early February to Skagway from Sacramento!!..It was beautiful, and I hit good weather. I drove alone, so it took me a bit longer..I noticed your profile that your from Mammoth Lakes, I know the area well. I lived, and worked in Yosemite for nearly 6 years..I was the Grocery Buyer for the whole park, and brought Mammoth beer into the park, know the owner very well. Made the yearly trek to Mammoth for the brewsapalooza for the past 4 years..Now I'm going to brewing beer myself at a new place here in Skagway!!..
Be careful of all the very large animals on the road through Canada, keep your driving to a minimum at night...Buffalo,Moose,etc..

Me and my sister are heading up the day after and staying the day in Edmonton on the 24th. We are headin up to Mckinley Princess lodge. I've driven it 4 times and I've got most of the information on my laptop of the route and gas prices. If you can get some Canadian Tavellers checks you need them for a better exchange rate. You can use credit cards for a fair rate but you will get charged again for POS and by your bank(learned that first time)

Its a really good drive from Here in Ut and AK. Drove the trip f4 times so far. My fastest time ever was 75 hours(18-19hour drive times with some naps boosted with a case of Rockstars) :D There are some cool places to see on the way up. Like the Lilard Hot Springs and the Edmonton Mall. I do recommend to get some Canadian Travellers checks for gas since some of the smaller stations wont give the fair exchange rate and credit card companies will charge twice for exchange rate. I have to be in Wasilla by noon on the 27th so I'll probrally be leavin here on the 23rd or 24th. Oh yeah if you can bring a spare gas tank for the upper part of BC the rate you will be paying will be nearly 5 or more a gallon after the exchange rate. If you have any questions just message me and reply soon.
