Well it's a beautiful morning in anchorage, the sun is shining through the mountains and there is about 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground. Not much to the folks around here I guess, but a lot for this time of year for me! Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to spend my day here? Just looking for stuff to do around the area. Which is Mid-town I think. Any ideas would be great as it's pretty cold to just strike out without an agenda!

Breakfast at the Snow City Cafe or at least a latte.
Lunch at the Glacier Brew House.
Dinner/Beer at Humpy's.

Earthquake Theater (downtown) and Earthquake Park (steep hill to railroad yards)
Alaska Native Heritage Center - you'll need a bus to head a bit north

Fun!

Well I already had breakfast EARLY this morning at Gwennies (see new pics) And now my Boss is coming in just a few hours instead of late tonight...so I guess I am just going to hang around the hostel and talk to some of the folks staying here. What a feeling it is to FINALLY be in alaska!
Gwennie's is great. I did see the photo. : )

Enjoy and soak it all in. It should be a lovely drive down Turnagain Arm.

Wells Fargo bank downtown has an amazing museum. I spoke to one of the curators and she used to make candles out of deer fat... she is very knowledgeable. It would be a cool side trip...and free.
We have a great trail system throughout the city that snake from downtown all the way to south Anchorage. Try to find a starting point and go for a walk. It's a nice day here in Anchorage, so maybe take a walk by Lake Hood. Enjoy our city. It's a beautiful place.
I'm in Anchorage too. What Hostel are you at? I'm staying at the Artic Adventure Hostel on 33rd and C. It is beautiful out today!
