Living & Working in Great Places

Hi, just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with Pahaska Tepee Resort, good, bad, indifferent? Does anyone know if they have internet access and if the housing is OK? Any info is appreciated. 40Rob

Hey Rob,

A search of this site digs up some previous feedback on Pahaska.

I was there this summer, and I'd call it an overall good experience.

Housing isn't anything fancy, but it's not cramped. In fact, I went my entire time there without a roommate, which was nice.

There is, in theory, free wifi internet access for employees and guests, but honestly, it was sporadic and slow, given the weather (remote location where only satellite internet service is available) and lack of an onsite IT person to troubleshoot things.

Emp. meals are likewise nothing extraordinary, but generally good. A bit repetitive now and then, but overall, it wasn't one of my big complaints. If I didn't care for a particular day's offering, I'd hit the restaurant, or the little store for a sandwich, or make an evening of things and head to Cody, WY, where there are decent options for food.

Pahaska is remote, if you don't enjoy the outdoors and activities like hiking, fishing, swimming or photo-tours in Yellowstone, you're likely to be VERY bored.

Management/Owners (Bob & Angela) are pretty good as employers go, usually fair and easygoing, and most of the other workers are alright people. But if you really want to be part of the "scene", and not spend a lot of time to yourself (as I did), I'll be totally honest, you'd better enjoy drinking, partying and casual drug use (pot, I didn't personally witness anything else).
