Living & Working in Great Places

Hey guys - I'm new to this seasonal work thing. I'm a New Yorker, picking up and taking off to Colorado, in search of a job in a ski resort for the winter. Was wondering if there were any fellow Colorado people out there!

Hey Foot Loose,

Do you know where in CO you're going to be yet? Or are you still working on that? Well good luck to you too!

Yeah, I'll be at Mesa Verde for the rest of the summer, and then on to Steamboat or Aspen I'm thinking.

Awesome! Keep me posted - we may end up in the same town after Mesa Verde. Good luck!

I worked in Steamboat last winter, it was a lot of fun, heading back there in October!!!!!

how were the living conditions in steamboat? what did you do there?

the mountain has staff housing at the ponds, 2 bed, 2bath apartments...quite nice, got cable hookups and wireless...was about 340 a month, sharing a room, so having 4 people an apartment...they had party and quiet blocks, and there is an awesome free bus around town, so you dont need to really drive!!!

I worked in the main ticket office, at the mountain!

I will prob be getting an apartment this year in steamboat, but they are expensive, and harder to come by at the moment!!!

where you thinking about working???

I've never worked as a seasonal employee in Colorado, is the living situation straight if you live in their provided housing/Dorms or is it better to find an apt.?

it's defo cheaper to use their housing, but it fills up pretty fast, so if u do work for the mountain, submit an application asap!!!!

I'm opting for an apartment this year!!!!

:-)

Hey, I'm looking to do the same thing...just recently started looking into it. I'm from Ohio. How you found work yet? I've heard the pay is not so good but the experience is worth it.
