Hi 40Rob,

I work with them on their ads and I always enjoy my interactions with them. I've never worked for them so can't say anything official on wages, etc. I know that there are some folks on here who have worked for them. Try looking at Kevin Mellott's profile. I think he's worked for them.

Regarding the lack of light, somehow, get out during the middle of the day just to get some light. I'm sure you'll get used to it eventually and you'll have amazing stories to tell.

I have not worked for them but know two people that have and they both spoke very highly of the employers. They said they made good money but didn't say how much.

Ahh, Beautiful desolate Coldfoot Camp. I had a great experience in Coldfoot but I left in October. The winter months are kinda different up there and you get a shift in clientle from what you have during the summer time. During the winter your main guests are the truck drivers taking the Dalton between Fairbanks and the North Slope. Although they seem a little intimidating at first these guys will eventually become your best friends up there that you will be able to rely on to get things from town without going yourself.
The management is great and it turns into more of a family than a working environment, the camp has had a long standing tradition that if you are going to do anything for the camp even down to cleaning the staff lounge to clock in for it. So the pay is generally good and the tips generally are not to bad either, granted you will have to prove yourself to the truckers before they will start leaving you good ones. As far as the darkness. It may be dark but you will be living directly underneath the band of the Aurora Borealis, if it is clear you have almost an 85% chance of seeing some lights, which really is an incredible sight to see!

Hi my name is James and i have also recently applied for a job at coldfoot camp and was wondering if someone could tell me about it, that is of course if you have worked there before. I'm really just wondering how the living conditions are and what not...basic info. thanks

i lived and worked in coldfoot in the summer of 2007 as a cook/kitchen lead... while i was there we lived in platform tents, 2 persons to a tent, with decent beds, i will say that for the short time i lived there" i was called home for a family emergency" i had the time of my life! i made life long friends, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and also made some money.... with all of your expenses taken care of for you... plenty of poker games, music, and plenty of time to reflect... but watch out for the mosquitos, they are as big as dragonflys..... i would go again in a heartbeat!
