I have been in the service industry for sevral yrs and submitted my resume to ncla online and got a call back. however the company has gotten rid of 2 of the 3 ships in hawaii so it might be hard to get hired by them but i hear princess and cruise west are still doing pretty good. you might have to pay for your own mmd card and stcw certification with them though im not sure good luck

I was just ( today)offered a position with these people. http://www.intercontinentalcruises.we.bs
they do international cruises. They are from London England.
The ship is in Africa right now. I'll know more about transportation to and from the ship next week. They supply training free with a six month contract. They need stewards, bartenders, deckhands, mates.

If you want to get a job on a yacht, now is the time to be in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The Ft. L'dle Int'l Boat show is at the end of Oct, this is the largest boat show in the world and the largest gathering of yachts anywhere. Now is the time when boats are crewing up for the winter season, and boats usually stick around Florida and the Bahamas or head down to the Caribbean. Summer seasons they head to New England or the Med. Lots of info if you google 'yacht crew agencies'. Beware, some agencies are helpful, some are not. You should never have to pay anyone to sign up with their agency. Really it just helps to get down to L'dle, stay at a crew house, dockwalk, head to the boat show, hand out your CV and talk to as many folks as you can. Network!!!
Since you've worked on cruise ships you probably have your STCW, you know that the hours are long and the work is hard, you don't get seasick, and you can picture what it's like to eat standing up or eat your dinner cold every night at midnight because of a demanding yacht owner and their guests. And as long as guests are on board, you are always on call. But it's $worth$ it! (Just don't go into it with the idea that it's less stressful than your cruise ship job was, or that you'll have any more time off.) The best part? You'll be well compensated.$$$ Sounds like you're a shoo-in with your past experience!
