Living & Working in Great Places

Well I did it, I took that leap and put in an application with Princess tours. I put in for both MT MCKINLEY and DENALI plus a position on the rail line. Right now my heart is doing leaps in my chest. I have always wanted to go see Alaska and have always been told it's awsome but I never got up the courage. So time will tell on this one.

Hi Brenda I am actually the one who responded to your application. Looks like you have good dates of availability. We operate may 10-Sept 17. It is a lot of fun. Any questions you have let me know!

Thankyou, it sounds like a lot of fun. I have loads of questions. right now I imagine you are very busy prepping for the upcomming summer so I will limit my questions. One of them actually deals with that Transportaion package the company talks about. How does that work. I am very excited about the possability of this adventure and yes a bit nervous but I look forward to further communication with you. My dates are actually very open. I'm a "free bird"

Brenda, I worked for Princess for a couple of years in Denali. What positions did you apply for? I noticed you drove a shuttle at one time. Are you interested in being a bus driver? Princess is one of the very few companies that actually trains drivers for their CDL's and they have several different types of positions out of Anchorage; Denali; Fairbanks; and McKinley. What position on the train? Long hours but then time off. Have never worked on the train but spoke with several who did, etc.

I applied for Houseman at the two hotels and seward steward on the Train. Actually Yes I did consider driver. Thats actually what I was origionally looking into. I am actually willing to change over to that if that is what they need. Yes I drove the shuttle up at the North Rim-Grand Canyon. I would have to get my CDL if they needed a driver. But I am More then willing to cooperate with them and go where the need arises. How I view it is this is a chance in a life time, not everyone can see a place Like Alaska and not everyone gets this kinda oppurtunity, so go for it. One of the thaughts I was thinking while filling out that application is I wish they gave you more then just 3 choices. I am still very excited about this.

Hi Brenda, I worked at Denali Princess thid past summer. The scenery and the lodge is great. The lodge is perhaps 1 mile to the entrance to Denali NP. The employee housing is approximately 11 miles north of the lodge. Princess provides shuttles between the lodge and housing. If you have any questions, let me know.
