Living & Working in Great Places

It looks like I'll be managing the retail store at Many Glaciers. Got a call yesterday from HR, was told they'd get back with me in a couple of weeks then five minutes later one of my references called and said he'd talked to them. I then talked to a woman over the retail section and she pretty much told me I have the job just wait for HR to get back with me.

It'll be May 28th through September 24th or so. I'll probably go up early I've got a friend in Missoula.

Hey to all of you going to Glacier - if its your first time there - you will be amazed. The most beautiful of all the parks in my estimation (and I've worked or visited several). I worked there 4 summers, was a Manager at East, and then for the park service. Some of the best hiking you will ever do. Many is known for all the bears that live there. One August we saw 9 (black) in a 1 hour time frame eating huckleberries right along the road, and this after watching a momma and baby moose play for 1/2 an hour while waiting on the boat to pick us up at Josephine Lake - good hike (Grinnell). Another time 5 grizzlies (2 cubs) along the same road. Obviously that means be very aware. Don't miss the Waterton side of the park, the boat ride/hike combo is amazing. Have a wonderful time.

I believe he's referring to Glacier in Montana. However, this comment holds special irony for me as I will be working in Glacier this summer and worked in Glacier Bay, Alaska last summer. I hear Skagway is a great place and Alaska is beautiful so I'm sure you'll enjoy it there.
