Living & Working in Great Places

Hi. I've been applying for several jobs for this coming summer.  I just want to make sure that I'll have a job line up... I'm sure many of you applying more than one job. If you receive more than one offers, how would you do?  Do you accept right way, or hold it for a few days?  Do you take the first offer or your first choice?  I just don't want to lose future options.  Let me know your opinions and experiences.

Sunny , well as of you I apply to many places within Jan and Feb after that I'm on done unless I get a job first week of Jan which happen to me this season .I also try and pick one big Natinal that may have lots of. Last year I went and took a job when ever the first company got back to me and offered a job in the grand canyon NR , i wished i Hadn't cause i did get an later that month to to go Yellowstone but oh well I still had a great summer at the North Rim . This year I held out for Yellowstone and got after two weeks worth of apps with in the Yellowstone area , It is pretty sad how some companies won't even call you but understand these days . Good start topic !

I don't usually apply to a LOT of places every season. I think I've topped out at four...tied the last two summer seasons. I wouldn't suggest that way to most people, a lot of factors go into that decision. This year I had four offers, the last did come after I made my decision. Last year I backed out of two during the interview process, I just wasn't getting a good gut feeling, and had two offers.

Sometimes I do go with that first offer. Sometimes I tell them I want to think about it a couple of days...especially if the place offers a job that wasn't my first position choice. A lot of it depends on that gut feeling I mentioned earlier. But once I make the decision, it's made. I don't agree with more than one and then decide later.

I plan on doing this seasonal thing for several more years. I personally do not feel comfortable with applying to many places year after year and then choosing some other place. I probably sound a bit cocky, but I do get a high offer percentage rate. A lot of experience, and i interview well.
