Are People Vacationing This Year? More or Less Than Last Year?

I just read this interesting article about taking vacations or not as the case may be. I realize that this may affect the so-called real world jobs more than seasonal ones, but the number of guests certainly does affect you working in tourist destinations.

"Vacations are the new work headache"

I'm curious what your thoughts are. And, I'm curious to hear from those who are already out there working, have you noticed less, more tourists? More, less foreign travelers? Anything else of note?

I hope things pick up here soon, we have some tour busses coming but not many individual travelers yet.

We have been open two weeks now, here at West Glacier (Glacier NP, Montana). After comparing May's numbers with last year's, we are down 35% in the lodging and 50% overall (gift shops, general store, lodging, gas station and restaurant).

Business is down a little from last year here at Many Glacier Hotel but it is still busy. 80-90% capacity for the hotel and booked solid by this weekend. The snack shop is busy, the gift shop is busy, and the oat tours are filling up quickly.
