Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
I recently worked for a Private Guest Ranch where I discovered Bellmen can make some serious money if you are working for a high end resort. The average cash payout for a resort that charges upwards of $500 a night generally gets a minimum of $20 per check in and the average amount of check ins is around 20 per bellman which totals $400 a day. There are guests who will pay you upwards of $100 but then they expect you to wine and dine them during their stay. Most people will stay between 2-5 nights and if they really like you they will dish out the mulah. Some places pay more other pay less but it really comes down to the Bellman selling him/herself because even though the company may be great it is YOUR personality that shines their day. At $400 a day that comes out to ...................$2 grand a week.........now that is a paycheck instead of slaving away in the kitchen cooking meals that the server delivers with or without enthusiasm. Deal maker or breaker comes down to how you deliver the service to that person, couple or family so we have to sell ourselves but we need to be honest and genuine about our experience so if you love your job that is a deal maker. The rewards are huge for some people will pay you handsomely because you made their time there..................special.
I hung out with a nice couple, while on my day off, I was rewarded handsomely for my time with them which I was not expecting for they were generous to me. We went into Canyon Lands National Park for the day and I had a blast with my new camera. The couple were so much fun to hang out with.
