Living & Working in Great Places

My husband and I recently applied for camp work in Florida and was surprised at what was offered us. The offer in exchange for 40 hours a week preferable year round was our rv spot plus utilites. Now if you do the math consider this resort charged $700 a month for a rv spot and about $30 for water and on average about $80 in electric our pay per hour would be around $2. How is a body to live and enjoy on $2 an hour with no income for food or other necessaries? Please anyone comment. We are new at this and need some vintage advice.

You have to be very careful what you sign up for. A lot of resort's ect.. try to take advantage of
seasonal workers. Yea but that really sucks!!

yes, we are wondering though what is a fair offer from those employing camp workers?

It doesn't seem like a good deal to me. Most of the camp workers here will also be in a different situation. They are probably working seasonally in or near one of the national parks...not year-round in Florida. Their deal is probably salary or hourly wage with a nominal charge for their rv space and food plan.

I worked year round at the Everglades Club in South Florida and was paaid very well, so it's not
a seasonal,year round thing,it's a camp or resort thing.
