Living & Working in Great Places

Hello everyone,
I've been researching seasonal jobs in Cape Cod and haven't been having much luck. I'm looking for restaurant jobs and affordabld housing. Has anyone worked there recently or have any info?

Moby Dick's usually has an ad come up Dec/Jan. I think they are in Wellfleet. I haven't been there myself yet...but I have heard good things, and I think they have housing.

I spent this past summer in Cape Cod. I started out working at Jams in Truro. Don't work there. Actually, I wouldn't recommend working anywhere in Truro unless you have a car, because the town is pretty boring. The more interesting parts of Cape Cod are Hyannis (which is the biggest town) and Provincetown (at the tip of the Cape). Chatham is nice too. When I was looking for another job what I did was go to the chamber of commerce sites for the towns and clicked on businesses to see if they had an employment section of their website. Unfortunately I can't really remember which jobs provide housing and are willing to hire people out of the area. The only ones I can think of besides Moby Dick's are The Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis and the Provincetown Inn Seaside Resort and Conference Center. I'm sure there are some others, but the majority of jobs on the Cape don't provide housing and only hire people who they meet in person. If you don't find a job ahead of time, you can just move there in the summer and I guaruntee you will find a job right away, even if you go mid-season. I found a job at a candy store in Provincetown the first day I started looking, and there were a couple of restaurant jobs I could have worked as well. That job didn't provide housing but I found a room for $360/month, utilities included--very good by Cape Cod standards, though it was far from work (and the rent was later raised when some of my roommates left).
