My mom says they do sometimes and I was just curious. How much on average did you receive from tips regardless of your location? Thanks so much!
By the way, I will be working in Yellowstone but they have not decided where.
I was wondering exactly what I will be doing as a housekeeper. I all know is I try the best I can at everything I do. But, cleaning hair out of the tub? So if everyone trys to not leave thier hair out of the tub, then I won't have to do it. But if that is part of my job I will do it. UGH. Oh well, Live, Love, and Laugh. Thanks.
Everyone drops a couple hairs every time they shower. Its a fact. If you think a couple hairs are gross as a housekeeper, imagine if you were a guest expecting a perfectly clean room. I worked front desk but helped out with houskeeping on busy days. I can't tell you how many 10% offs I've given for a couple hairs in the tub or a tiny spider web in the corner. You'll get over it. After a while it just seems like one of those things, ya know? Also, get ready to do laundry... lots and lots of laundry.
One of the best places for tips for housekeeping is at Jenny Lake Lodge in the Grand Teton National Park. It is a 4 diamond lodge and each girl has x number of cabins to clean. 80% of the guests leave gratuties and based on who stays in the cabins you clean, whatever tip money is left from that guest goes to the girl who cleaned that cabin. You can rake in several hundred dollars per month from tips. I would imagine most of the resorts (because a lot of the people come year after year), know what is expected from them and tip accordingly. A wrangler usually gets good tip money and naturally servers (the best tips of all), but then they have to tip out the bartender & busboys, still they wind up pocketing $100-200 nightly
