Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
I will be heading out to work for GTLC in May. What should I bring that most people might forget or dont think they need? Any advice would be appreciated!
Hi Kevin- I worked for GTLC at Jackson Lake Lodge last season and will be back again this summer. What you bring totally depends what you plan on doing while you are there. If you are the outdoor athletic type and like to hike/backpack bring your equipment as it's a hiker/backpacker's paradise. Also, you can use the kayaks & canoes at Colter Bay Village for free so bring some non-cotton clothing and water shoes and fishing equipment. You will be living and playing above 7,000 feet and, unlike the southern states, it is can be quite cold at night and also in June and September so bring warn layers especially if you plan hiking in the high country. Aggie (aka Ranger Rich), one of the regulars on MyCoolWorks has created a great Rocky Mountain Gear List.... http://my.coolworks.com/forum/topics/seasonal-packing-list. I always take a large lockable foot locker for things I don't want to disapear and silicone ear plugs because the dorms can be noisy and, last but not least, consider bringing a bicycle as it's a handy thing to have. I drive there in my car so these things are easy for me to bring. Terry
