Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
You're headed to the place I called home for many years - and all that started with one summer job during my college years. Who knew that taking a job in Housekeeping would result in a long career and a very different lifestyle than I could have even imagined, growing up in the Midwest.
I hope you'll find many people of all different ages and backgrounds, similar and not so similar - and that you'll have the time of your life. AS with many things in life. try to stay focused on your own "north star" - what will a successful summer look like for you? 100 miles of hiking? Visiting 20 different trails? Trying to meet someone from all 50 states? Keep that in mind as you spend one unforgettable summer there.
I'm not sure which company you're working for, but each will be just the base for your adventure. You'll have work schedules and many tourists and dorm challenges and you'll get tired of the cafeteria food .... but don't sweat all that "small stuff". You're in YELLOWSTONE !!! And that's one place many people can only imagine visiting for a few short days.
There will be about 4000 seasonal employees (that's parkwide, not specifically where you will be located) and 2.2 million acres to roam. I'm excited for you!
It will almost definitely be snowy at times at the beginning and/or end of the season.
It'll also be blazing hot at elevation deep summer.
The good clean fun of the summer is hot potting on the Fire Hole River.
You didn't say where you're working but the Old Faithful Employee Pub was kind of the keeper of such.
West's a bit tame but Jackson - a bit further - is worth a trip.
