Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
I'm applying to them today. I'm curious about what people do on their time off. Any hunting or such activities?
Hi again Ken. If you DO get up there we had lots of group activities like fires and such. Sukakpak is owned by a company that also handles tours so there were bushplane rides and river rafts and the tour bus back to other camps or even Fairbanks. If you have the right stuff then theres fishing and hiking and the usual (bring Bear Spray and be alert) Our camp even loaned me a gold pan and I went panning once.
awesome, sounds like a lot of fun. I applied for the winter position so some of the things you listed would probably be limited. I'm an outdoors person for sure. Fishing and lots of hiking would be my goals.
I took a kitchen manager job here at home, so I won't be able to accept a position there now anyways. I'm planning a trip up that way again ( I spent a month in Tok before and had a good time then. I hope to ride my motorcycle up there then take off on foot for a month or so. There's so many sites to see I won't know where to start. The Matneuska ( spelling check) glacier is something I want to check out. Among other things/places. Thanks for the info .
