How is Forever Resorts to work for on North Rim

I worked for Xanterra on the North Rim in 2007. Can anyone provide information on how the new contractor, Forever Resorts, compares to Xanterra. I know that the top management is still the same as before but hopefully there are some improvements.

Two very different companies. I've worked for both and yes, what Jim said is correct they seemed to actually care about there employees. Last year was a rough draft but they have revamped for this year, renovated and sound genuinely concerned that the employees have a great summer. So far in all the years and company's I have worked for I would have to say Forever is the nicest and best one. Sure had its share of trouble but hey so does everywhere, but there attitudes were not high almighty and there passion for wilderness, ecosystem, resources and much more were top notch
I cant say anything about south or north rims, But I can say when I worked at signal mt , forever resorts was more than fair with there employees, also there environmental practices are top notch.
i am not a bigot, i hope not. Forever is a mormon owned company. i am sorry but that word mormon leaves a bad traste in my mouth. the nomber of children that have been abused in the name of polygamy makes me sick. i know that the sect of mormonism practicing bigamy is no longer a part of the mormon church but i can' get the bad taste out of my morth.
men marrying 15 year old girls in arranged marriages, having children with them, on top of their 10 other wives to me is sickening. oc course what they are doing to children is no worse than what the catholic priests do to children. This sect of mormonism is located in the arizona strip not far from the north rim.
it says a lot for this forum that my previous post was not deleted by the management. you are right. rex's religious affiliation has nothing to do with the fact fo whether or not forever is a good company to work for. and yes my post was bigoted and i wish it had been deleted by management. you can take any religion, look into its past and find something that it did that was not a good thing. you could proabably do that with my religion too, The Bahai Faith. Although to be honest, i can't think of anything bad that my religion has done. MY religion is the world's youngest religion and proabably enough time has not passed for it to do anything bad. but this is not a regious forum and i aplolgize and will be quiet before i am censored by the management.
what do that have to do with working for north rim
We're pretty easygoing here, and yes, your comments were pro-bigot, but you admitted that, and that's okay. For future reference, though, if you would like to delete one of your comments, look for the orange 'x' on the upper-right corner of the comment.
Charlie, as chef said you can delete your own post simply by clicking on the orange x. I never heard of your religion actually. But no it has nothing to do with the North Rim nor does the Catholic faith, or the protestant faith. National parks are made of such a vast majority of people from many different affiliations and even those that have no affiliation. And some that don't believe period. As you can see I deleted my first post to you and I will do the same with this post as well.
also another thing is a lot of folks think that the North rim is barren and boring because its so isolated, but that's actually not true. The HR team go's out of there way to make sure that there is all kinds of stuff happening and activities throughout the season. Not to mention, if ya don't care to join in on those activities the picture taking opportunities, the nature, and a host of stuff. Yep Xanterra could be bad or good. I don't know what Xanterra was like at the North Rim but Forever is not bad and has already been stated by yourself Russ it is the same folks that worked with Xanterra. They have Daisy as the General manager and this year her hubby, Mike as Hr head. Last year it was Dan, Ron and Debbie. They have Daisy, Mike, Scott, Rick and several more. Not sure she is comming back this year but even Carol who worked in 2007. Jesus also. They have a host of people that I bet you worked with still up there and last I spoke with Mike there is over 100 returning employees so that sais something for the Management up there.
I cannot make a comparison with Xanterra because I have not worked for Xantera. However I want to express my opinion of the NR management. I am new to Forever Resorts and the North Rim. I have had the opportunity to talk with Daisy and Mike on several occasions about a seasonal position. I have worked for 40+ years in Corporate America. I can say without a doubt that Daisy and Mike are some of the very best managers I have dealt with. They are professional, skilled and personable. I am really looking forward to be part of the NR Team this summer.
Daisy is the gm. now her husband is one of the managers. that is called nepotism. i dont care how good a manager she is , she and forever resorts practices nepotism which is not a good thing. when her husband messes up do you think for one minute he willbe treated objectivly? daisy is human, like the rest o f us. most 500 fortune companies do not allow nepotism because there are conflicts of interest. if i waw the park service, i would put in forever's contract, no nepotism.
I'm sorry Charlie, but your comments are beginning to get out of hand. So far, all three of your comments have been entirely unnecessary, unwarranted, and unwanted. Who cares about nepotism? If they get the job done, great. If not, well, the season is only six months long. Personally, I don't care one way or another, and I think you should really consider keeping any future comments to yourself if they are going to be this hateful and undermining.
you are entitled to your opinion. however, nepotism is being practiced at the north rim. no management team is perfect. this is one imperfection. however based on what i've heard, it is their only blemish. do you want the whole truth or only the sweet truth? that's up to you. do you want someone who works for you that says yes only, never telling you some truth that if you heard it would enable you to run your company more efficently and profitably? i don't wnat a yes man working for me. i want someone that is not afraid to tell me the truth as he sees it. now i may not agree with him, but i will thank him for his honesty. 9 times out of 10 i won't need to hear it. but that one time that i do , it may save my company.
