Living & Working in Great Places

I am looking into working at one of these Cool Places on this website and was wondering if some of you could tell me what one generally spends on food (meals) in one month. I know this probably varies depending on place but if you could give me a general sense that would be great. Trying to budget for the future. Thanks, Janet

Yeah, it does vary a lot. Hmm...what I'd call the average room and board price is $10-15 a day. It's usually deducted from the paycheck. I have seen up to twice that amount. There are also those places that charge per meal, or just offer an usual 50% off menu price. I have seen more than $20/day and I have seen $25/week.

There are places where food is not provided...then it's whatever you decide to buy from the store. A lot of these places are not near large cities...count on small markets with somewhat higher than normal prices and fewer options.

There are also some places...mainly ranches and the more remote small lodges that provide room and board as a free benefit.
