Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
I've been working on it for a few seasons. It can be done. We will just have to find the right places.
The problem to overcome is that good cooks/bakers/chefs are difficult positions to find qualified candidates in the seasonal field. On the other hand, there is usually more qualified server applicants than positions.
I'm also willing to do a season or two in housekeeping...and they literally laugh at that. I was able to do a season in retail...only by going to a place that did not have a kitchen.
Good luck. I'm trying it again for this winter, I'll let you know if I find a place.
i would say start out as a busboy so u can see how it done maybe offer them to help them we had an girl that was in pantry move to server so it can be done just have to sell yourself
Well I know how to serve, I did it before i started cooking, its just been several years. And Like Keith said, everywhere I try to be a server they want me to cook instead haha
Because cooks are harder to come by than servers.... I would emphasise that if you are interested in a server position, although that will make it harder to get hired. However, if you are persistent, a server position is within easy reach. Also try a mid-season transfer; it is a good way to get back on the floor when the college students go back to school.
