Living & Working in Great Places

Hi. Has anyone worked in Park City, Utah? I'm trying to decide between Park City Mountain Resort, and Soda Butte Lodge in Montana. Is Park City a cool place to work? The cost of living is really expensive there--do most people manage to save money or just break even?

Park City is really cool. I would highly recommend it over the Soda Butte Lodge!

Two completely different experiences. Park City is a classic ski resort town. Cooke City, MT is a VERY small Montana mountain town that in the winter is pretty isolated, and the scene there is snowmobiling.

If you're going to do PCMR, you'll want to live in Park City. Look for a roommate situation right away. Saving much money would probably be tricky. I think you'd have to look at it as getting to spend the winter there, skiing, etc. It is a really fun place, and the skiing is fantastic.

Soda Butte would give you the opportunity to see some of Yellowstone in the winter. But you have to be comfortable driving on snow packed roads. I imagine there would be days during the week in Cooke where it would be very quiet and peaceful - certainly gorgeous with lots of snow. It's not a resort scene though, so you'd have to enjoy some alone time, reading, cross-country skiing, etc.

Great to have choices! Best wishes.
