I would love to speak with anyone who may be interested in Rio Blanco Ranch but have questions or concerns. I spent last year there as the dining room manager and will be returning this year. I am excited to get a great staff at the ranch this year to top last years!
I was actually just looking at Rio Blanco. What are some of the things you liked/disliked about it? How is the housing? How far is the closest town? Is there any kind of internet access? I would like to be a Wrangler, I don't have a lot of horse experience though...do you think I'd be better off to apply for ranch hand..or another position?
I loved the ranch. It has been my favorite seasonal gig to date and the only place that I am actually going to return to. It offers a small staff size with the Flat Tops mountain area as your back yard. THe housing is all done cabin style, large cabins with separate rooms and shared living areas. We do have satellite internet access, if you now how it works than you will know it sucks and sometimes does not exactly work. But it does work most of the time. The closest town is Meeker which is roughly 40 min out, or you have Rifle and Steamboat Springs which are about 1.5 hrs away. I will give you a heads up and let you know that I have never heard of a guy wrangler at Rio Blanco, granted we only have two so they can control that pretty well. Ranch Hand would always be a good place to start!
