Living & Working in Great Places

I received a request from Keith Larson to create a Roll Call for the fall so here it is. Same as the summer roll call list for 2009, if you know what you'll be doing and where you'll be this fall or winter, please enter the following information and I'll make it pretty. : )

Thomas J Valentine - GRA - Grand Canyon Lodges -October 6th 2009 thru???-This is my first experience with this kind of thing and I really am looking forward to it. I am 52 years old and have been tied behind a desk for far too LONG! I hope this will be a positive change in my life and I can continue on this path. I love the outdoors. It takes very little to make me happy as far as material things go so I asked myself, "Why not"!

Janette IT Tech - Grand Canyon South Rim (yeah, just couldn't tear myself away, so just hopped over to the other side.) Started today. No contract, will stay as long as it takes! Currently rediscovering weekends that fall on Saturday and Sunday - it's kind of a quaint idea, we'll see how it goes.

Brendan - I'm actually returning to the Grand Canyon South Rim after being away since 1/08. I start on 10/19, and plan on staying there a very long time this time. I'll be cooking at the El Tovar again.

Just a thought: It'd sure be nice to have a one-stop spot for winter jobs..I haven't found anything on here yet that's hiring for winter 09-10... (if anyone's seen some, lemme know lol)....and am now trying to get online whenever I can so I don't miss an opportunity. Still....
First preference would be to go work at Coldfoot camp or deadhorse camp.
Or Alyeska hotel in Girdwood.
I am much healthier in a lower altitude! :)

!!!! It's already the 6th of July... My work sched this week is mostly days.... will try and get one when I can.... Any "best days" to check? Or am I still a little early? :)

9/27/09: I am settling in to my new home in Girdwood AK. Work began for me today at the Hotel Alyeska..while I didn't get this job by applying for it on Coolworks, I DID get to AK by getting a job from this site..... so there's still a connection. "Six Degrees" game anyone? lol.
We'll see what happens with this! I am working retail. Not a "seasonal contract" place, so no dates to state for me....

still looking for work if anyone can help thank you

I looked around the Death Valley/Scotty's Castle area. Unfortunately I only saw a couple that were seasonal spots. They must hire a lot of people from the area.
