Hey Folks -

Next week the HR managers from some of the National Parks and other great places will be meeting in another great place, Zion National Park, for the annual SHRA (aka Seasonal Human Resources Association) conference.  I feel lucky to have attended this conference for the last six years - three times for Princess Tours and three times for CoolWorks.com.  This will be #7.  Wow.

Anyhow, there has been a request to get from you, the tribe, your top ten wish list or ten ways the employers can help you have a successful RV / Work / Life.

Please share your thoughts.  If you ever wanted to provide feedback to the people who can help make things happen, now is your chance.

Thanks in advance!
Kari

as far as yellowstone we had a girl this summer that lived in her van actually 2 of them 1 young 1 older and the older lady has did it for years, they used the bathroom that is there in the campground, she had a small propane stove that she cooked over, i would see her carring it to the bathroom to clean.. she worked for xanterra:))
Thx Jackie, that was more like what I was thinking. I assume they didn't get charged for housing from Xanterra.
not housing but u do pay for the rv sight around 30 a week but no food
Living in a van is easy to do; some live out of them in the winter here in Valdez. It is a very cheap way to live and makes saving $$$ easy. you can change your backyard any time you want to... :0)
woulda thought its to cold in Valdez,AK to live in a van all Winter.
All topics have been very interesting and informative, but this is the best one yet! By the end of this month ill have a new RV (new to me anyway) and need to start learning about this subject! Thank you for giving me a head start on researching a seasonal life in an rv!

Bravo Kari!!! and thank you!!
Grand Teton Lodge Company does have an employee rv park at Colter bay with about 68 sites, some of them have 50 amp for bigger rv's. If you work at Colter Bay you can walk to work and the sites are dirt or gravel and you would need satellite to get television, lots of pine trees. You pay $6 per day for the rv site so if you are a couple then its is $3 each per day. This covers your electric, water, sewer, free laundry , employee activities and limited wifi but no food in the employee cafeteria's. To apply for jobs go to www.gtlc.com. New employees can start applying after January 2nd, but the employee rv park fills quickly so apply early. They employe over 1000 employee's andthere is about a 50% return rate for employees. Too many positions to list. Rving is the way to go if you like your own space and food.
Glad it's helpful, Ken! : ) The tribe truly has all of the answers.
