I know that Yellowstone has RV sites for employees but I was wondering if people could tell me of other National Parks and resorts that have RV sites for employees?
Mt. Rainier hires many RV-staying employees; they have a dedicated area in Ashford, just outside the park. I've heard some pretty crappy things about how they treat their employees, restrictions and so forth, plus, they charge a pretty penny for the RV spaces (considering that you HAVE to stay SOMEWHERE if you're gonna work for them).
Grand Canyon has some employee RV spaces available. I know some people who boondocked while working.
Yosemite: not inside the park, and nothing cheap available near the park.
its not national parks that allow you to have your RV its the company you work for. So your mission if you want to take your RV is to find a company your interested in, some have employee housing and RV sites,, they'll be more than happy to tell you. Ask??
I called Signal Mountain Lodge and they only have a couple of RV spaces available. On top of that they will not tell anyone how much a position pays until they offer a job so I am not sure I could afford it.
A little more info about the McKinley Princess RV spots. As of right now, and this could change so make sure you ask if you are interviewed, the cost for a RV Hookup is $3/day. That covers your water and septic. I believe there is also cable television and phone lines to hook up to at each spot as well. The RV Spots are right next to the rest of employee housing, about a 5 minute walk from the main lodge building.
