What are my options? I find that the vast majority of jobs available for the winter season at various ski resorts are meant for just that- skiing. I've never picked up a pair of skiis in my life. I snowboard.
I live in the Seattle area and would ideally like to work somewhere where I could drive my car back home to spend time with family during the holidays.
I guess my main goal is to work somewhere where I can work a few hours then board the rest of the day. I also worked at Signal Mountain Lodge a couple summers back and would like a housing situation similar to that. Dormitory style, co-ed... where drinking is allowed after work. I'm only 22, so hoping for somewhere where there are lots of people my age. Want to work at a kind-of laid back attitude resort.
I've explored possibilities in Utah, Idaho, California, even Colorado. I'm pretty indecisive at this point.
The three resorts right now that stand out for me are Kirkwood in Cali, Grand Targhee Resort in Wyoming and Togwotee outside of Jackson Hole, also in Wyoming.
Also, does anyone know of any resorts that offer a vegetarian meal option for employees? (I'm actually Vegan, but am willing to revert to a vegetarian just so I don't starve this winter!)
Anybody work at a good resort just so they can board everyday? What was your experience? I'd love your feedback. :)
