Living & Working in Great Places

I went to the doctors and he said I have severe ear infections and my Bronchiols are closing up so he gave me ADVAIR and then wrote out two scripts but like I said I have to wait for pay day to get them.

Brenda, I have read a lot of your posts on this web site. I would be very interested to know why you are thinking of quitting seasonal work. I think you try to give a true picture of working conditions and that's what we need to hear. I have only worked 1 seaon and that was 2 years ago. I am an older worker and it's hard for me to find a job in the real world. However, I have a full time job right now and I hate it, I hate the company, I don't have benefits, and the people are awful. I am depressed most of the time. I continually come to Coolworks and look for jobs then don't apply. I need a change from where I am. Anyway, are you just tired to moving around or are you having a hard time at the rim this year? Any help would be appreciated.

NJL, I've been working seasonal 11 years and I just need a long break. Plus I have seen and done a good deal already. I just had my b-day yesterday and no I am not quite older and bolder per se but I think at this point I need to give it a rest for now. From all my years as a seasonal, like anywhere you have your good and your bad, some years are just better then others. Last year I liked it well enough, though I had my fair share of moments but this year its just not the same its just not cutting it for me. I will complete the season and then go on my merry little way.

I don't know you personally, but I have read your posts and gobs of others for months, so I kind of feel like I know you a little bit. I had seriously been looking at the job postings for quite a while now for the north & south rim, but so many people say so many bad things about Zanterra and the dorms and management, but I have never been to the grand canyon and would like to go. If there are things going on that you don't want to make a public post about, I understand. If there is anything you'd like to share about the people, management, working conditions, living conditions, whatever it is that is going on that is affecting you negatively, I would like to know, if you would like to share. I am not happy with my present job, but I would really hate to quit it and take a seasonal job only to be more miserable. I know we can always say, well it's only for 5 months or whatever, but sometimes those 5 months can be an eternity. If you would like to share anything, please email me at jlongamerica1@aol.com. Would appreciate hearing from you. Do you think another location would be better for you, at a place maybe where you haven't worked yet?

Grand Canyon North Rim is no longer Xanterra. They lost the contract last year to Forever Living/ Forever Resorts. Forever LLC, has properties all over the world including Africa. It's not so much the company. There is nothing personal, I am just at a point I am tired and need a break. This company is ok. There not like the same as last year up here but there no where close to Xanterra. One thing about the company though is, and I am talking Forever Resorts, that at least up here there not so big that they are to busy for the employee's. There not as personal like they were last year and that part is not making it to appealing to me this year. Forever Resorts runs houseboats and resorts.
