Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
I have been very aware of something that last 4 years that I have been working seasonal jobs and that is the people that have been doing it for much longer seem to have this attitude that the people that haven't been doing it as long should be somewhat impressed or taken back by how long they have been doing it. I really don't get star struck by people that have been doing it longer, if they are humble about it I am cool with it but if they are not I rarely pay any attention to them.
I would never in a million years have that attitude towards anyone. I have only done this for 4 years and am proud of the places that I have been to. I am usually not a repeat employee to a summer or winter location simply for the fact that I like to move around and see new places. Some people have been doing this for 10, 15, 20, 25 years or even more and I think that is cool but to act like you are better than others because you have been doing so is just tacky and pathetic in my opinion, yet that is just me.
Sorry just had to vent about that. I say treat everyone as equal and if you feel like you need to toot your own horn then perhaps you have some other issues that you need to deal with. Okay I am done

Generally, I feel this network is very supportive to all regardless of years of experience and especially kind to newbies, be that first season ever or first season at a new place. I think that how people write and reply to others says a whole lot about who they are. And, it's my hope that members of the tribe, as we like to call you all, understand that we like people who play nicely in the sandbox. That's really all this is.
Working cool jobs in great places is what we like to do. We hope that everyone has good experiences. Sometimes the stars align for good, and sometimes things just don't go our way. But, we all can control our attitude, words, and demeanor while on this network and at our jobs. It's a two way street. Kindness begets kindness. Rudeness begets rudeness. When we work together to achieve better information, have smoother interactions, and respect one another, for each person's road is unique, we'll be better for it.

Well said Pied Pipper!!!
Thanks for those words but when someone tells me that I don't know anything because I have only been doing this for 4 years that just makes them look stupid and ignorant at the same time and then they sit back and act like they didn't do anything. I just don't understand that aspect of it. I guess I know that I would never ever act that way towards anyone.
