Hmmm...Signal is special to many of us. It was my first seasonal experience, but I'll try to remain neutral. If it were any job at Xanterra in Yellowstone compared to any job at Signal the choice would be easier. I don't think your age or car factors are much different in either place.

Do you have a personal preference with retail or restaurant work? In either location you are going to be busy...busy busy. With DNC you are probably going to have split shifts, not so much at Signal...does that matter to you one way or the other? Many, many, many co-workers...or not so many?

Whichever way you choose, you're summer is looking very nice.
At least you got a call back from Signal Mountain Lodge , I emailed and called them about my application and nothing back oh well there loss. I tried the restaurant place and not my style of work . it is all about what you like working and how well you can handle the customers in each different settings. I will just ad to what Keith said , its all about what place you would prefer to work , you can still explore both areas all summer by catching rides or tour buss etc . I would of chosen Signal Mountain area because of the fishing access but that can be do able for me still with having my ride .
U MAKE A CHOICE HERE HOW IT GOES GET TOO IDAHO FALLS ID AND THE JACKSON EXPRESS WILL PICK U UP FOR LIKE 45.00 DALOORS THWEN YOU WILL GET PICKED UP JACKSON OR U FLY TOO UTAH SALT LAKE AIRPORT AND IT WILL PICK U UP A GRANDE ADVENTURE GOOD LUCK BEEM THERE AND DONE THAT LOL ANGEL PEACE AND LOVE HAVE FUN ELIZABETH MARY HOUEA..
Signal Mountain is the easy choice. The country is far more beautiful than Yellowstone and you will be right on Jackson Lake (so you can have kayaking, etc). The Fall colors there are spectacular. Signal has one of the best reputations for a seasonal company (and it's food is far superior to Yellowstone). You will be closer to Jackson and closer to excellent hiking. I don't know if you are allowed, but JLL (5 miles away) has transport for employees and guests into Jackson every day. There are a fair amount of Moose nearby. Signal is clearly the better choice (I worked JLL 2 years and Old Faithful 2 years). Tetons are simply way better.
Besides, as a hostess, you will have the opportunity to move into serving tables, which is good $$$.
i decided on signal mountain! i'm so excited. and thanks for the help! :)
Never worked there at Signal but proximity to Jackson is a selling point for me but the biggie would be hiking in the Tetons and the fact that I have worked in Yellowstone. Old Faithful is quite a run, and with no car hitching rides can be somewhat tricky in coordinating days off with other people that do have cars and want to go. If I was doing seasonal work this summer Signal would be my pick. Just my 2 cents I'am sure you will like either one you pick. Tell us which one you pick.
i emailed..then i called HR and left a message, and i received a call back a few days later.
Yah that was the reason I did two back to back summers with Xan. at Yell. never heard back from Signal figured they didn't need the help and Xan. at Yell. did but they were two pretty good seasons. Got burned in a later season with Xan. at Yell. but that's all about taking the good with the bad, overall Xan. at Yell. was alright. 2 for 3 that's good odds, just glad I had the good before the bad.
