Hey Austin (or anyone who knows) Any idea of where this guy took these pictures of Monument Valley? Is it permitted to go there without a guide? I'm posting a link because I'm not certain of whether the images are copywritten.

@Austin lee: gotta love red rock country!! Interesting pics! where were they taken at, specifically? I've been to Moab and Arches NP, Mesa Verde, and to Capitol Reef NP as well as Bryce Canyon and Zion NP and Canyonlands. Would love to get out to Monument Valley and to Antelope Canyon, and do the hike to The Wave down in Paria as well, someday.

I like having a more compact camera as well...I am currently owner of a Canon Powershot S3IS... would like to upgrade, as this camera is kinda shot from the tens of thousands of photos I've taken with it...(and I'm not kidding. I shoot a LOT of photographs!) I've heard the Nikon p/s cameras are quite good...what can I say, I like both brands as faves. Let me know if you get that one and what the results are!

I was thinking about getting a pocket size camera, but still have a good zoom. For those days I'm out and about but not wanting to carry something large. I've been looking at the new Nikon S8000.
