Employee housing is Awesome! the converted the old snake river hotels to employee housing with private and separate full baths. some close "must see" places around there are Moose falls, snake river canyon, Huckel berry, Eagles nest and pol-cat hot springs, and my fav Fire Hole Lake. take a look at a map, but you should be able to follow the river that flows in front of huckel berry hot springs and you should be able to see areas of yellowstone that only a few get to see. theres also grassy lake road, which is full of free camping with bathrooms! and obviously grassy lake itself; all that is in the flagg ranch area. The main issue is BOB likes to work everyone 6 days a week because he can, so good luck trying to squeeze everything you can out of that area. OOOOOHHHH also look up Spalding Bay! its tricky to get to, the dirt road starts off the Grand Tetons main highway! another free campground and one of my fav places to start a fishing trip!  one thing i would watch out for is Marty the Moose. He has been chasing me around that area since he was a baby, he must be 15 or 16 by now he has no fear and loves to protect the hot springs... If its my day off your probably catch me at Coulter bay having some dank pizza!!! see you there!

I was just offered a contract there June-September for this summer. Any info on what the hosuing/employee life is like would be great. This will be my first seasonal job and I'm most likely coming up alone so I was wondering  how soical things get in terms of making friends and finding hiking partners, etc.

Sharon if I remember correctly cell service doesn’t work out there and there is a computer with internet in the employee rec area the burnt bear I think it’s called. So if there’s an internet connection all you would need is a wifi router and maybe a booster antenna or two and you could get service to the dorms. I did a similar set up at Olympic just recently only we used 3g routers because of quality cell service. Total set up was $60

Thinking about applying for 2011. Is there internet access/WiFi available? Have a laptop I can bring, just wondering if there is availability. also, I've worked in West Yellowstone and know that cell coverage is iffy, how about at Flagg Ranch? Any particular provider work better than another?
