Living & Working in Great Places

So last season I arrived on May 7 and there were alot of people around to keep eachother busy. This year i have to be there May 1. I dont assume there will be many of us there for about another week. Just curious as to what all of your arrival dates are? Probably May 8 for the majority of you. Anyone coming earlier then that? I am driving my car this year also. How many of you driving yourselfs?

So what position will you have instead?

Don't panic, I'm not going to be your boss!
Activities and Interpretation coordinator is the title I think. Basically working with the programs that NR has to make sure they meet with NPS requirements and complement the programs NPS has. Should be fun.

I talked with Daisy today and will not be the IT person. I have accepted the Accounting Manager position. I will be performing the duties of the Acct. Mgr. and IT until an IT person is hired. I will be at the North Rim on April 15 if NPS allows us in.
Janette, I hope we can get together since we will both be early. I'll keep in touch as plans firm up.

That's great Mike. You and Janette are going to be at the North Rim before you know what hit you. I still have to wait 45 days before I head out that way.

Great Mike. And of course I'll be happy to help with any IT stuff if I have any time, I think I'm going to be rather busy for the first half of the season though. Drop me an email when you know your dates for sure.

On a connected subject, North Rim is still getting snow. I can see a fressh new white coating over the plateau from here, on areas that were clear up till yesterday.

Thank you. After talking with Daisy, it does sound a bit hectic when opening the lodge but I am really looking forward to getting started. Janette sounds like she will really be quite busy getting ready for our guests by working with NPS.
I believe I'll be leaving Minnesota on 4/10.

Janette, will do. I believe I'll be leaving Minnesota on 4/10. My time to complete tasks at home just got shorter. I need to stop 'goofing off' LOL. My route may take me right past you. When I get ready to leave you'll have to let me know where you're camping and I'll email my itinerary to you.. :o))

Sure thing Mike, just let me know when you're coming through. Not much here, but I can always find space for someone to bunkfor the night.

I will be arriving April 27th and after reading Brenda's blog looks like I might be in for a treat. luckily I have been working here at Winter Park so if they need me to help clear snow I got lots of experience.lol,
I am going to fly into Vegas the 25th, take the bus to St George, stay the night, and have them pick me up on the 26th. I am going to try and purchase a jeep cherokee while I am up there because some of the trails I want to hit are to far to hike to the trail head.
I am glad to see you are coming back.

Get down with the rubber finger mustache

I just received an email from Daisy regarding Hwy. 67. It looks like the NPS is going to allow us in on 4/15. I'll be leaving MN on 4/11. I am really looking forward to working with everybody. I may be one of the shuttle drivers picking folks up in St. George until the all staff are at the NR. :0))
