What do you do with them? Throw them individually at the irritation, like target practice, or maybe in a slingshot? Or use the entire bottle so you can retrieve it later for future use?

visiting the North rim is a whole different view then working it. I think even though the elevation is at over 8000ft more of the asperin is for the headacks from the other people. don't forget your living there for several months not just a few days. North Rim was good for making it all look cool to the visitor but what went on behind the scenes, is a whole other story. It has its fun times but like anywhere you go they have there real idiots. For me I took medication only when something was going on with employees, but then again I have always been backwords. I am not used to sea level. My allergies and problems come full force when I am not in the Mountains. Once I get up there in the Mountains its like being free. My allergies, headacks, nose bleeds subside.

yea i am only 20 and i can only handle the drunken idiots for so long before i need medication. the north rim is absolutely nothing like we make it look to visitors. its actually very dramatic and parties in the dorms on a nightly basis which is not the best thing when you are trying to sleep and be to work at 6 am but you have to just adjust cause you will never end it so you live with it. right brenda? lol drunk people going crazy and creepy pervs hanging around. although i dont like that my cabin is by the general store and so far from the edr...i do enjoy knowing i have my own cabin in a quiet camp area far from drinking and/or throw up in dorm hallways!!!!! lol

ugh, throwing up in the hallways?
Do the partiers ever get in trouble? Is housing not very strict? What happens if they get written up?
I think it'd be nice to have a drink or two in the pub after work, but I will be in housekeeping, which means waking up early, and I will need my sleep.
Like you said though, will probably have to just adjust to it, bring earplugs, etc.

lets see other stuff to be sure and bring. music, camera and equipment, games if you like, (cards, board games) laundry stuff, id's-social.both light and heavy cloaths. Rain gear, cell phone if you have one, flashlights(a good one not the cheapy's) it gets very dark up there. toiletries(shampoo conditioner, shavers, soap, brush, so on) laptop if you have one. good pair of shoes or hiking boots. drinking containers to keep drinks in to sip on throughout the day. Meds (prescribed and over the counter-Tylenol, aspirin, so forth) Batteries. Bat chargers and cell chargers.

gotta remember tho this is a new year so it may not be as bad as last year with the parties. Speaking as a person who worked as security yes they were written up and it was 3 strikes your out. if they partied we would bang on there doors, tell them quiet down. if we had to come back to the same room a second time there room # and names were taken down, a third time they were written up and we turned the write ups into the HR plus called the MOD'S (MANAGER ON DUTY), the Hr manager and all in the Hr seen the write ups that we made and from there the Hr manager would send the write ups to Daisy. After that u usually had to go talk with Daisy. Most times she would give them strict warnings and tell them they were on a leash. if they had another write up they were gone.

alot of people get fired for crazy drinking and parties. but more always show up. if you have a good sense of humor you will learn to laugh at most drunk idiots and tune out the others. the pub can get crazy sometimes to depending on who is in there. drinking is almost required to make it through the season for people in certain jobs. we get alot of difficult visitors and alot of people work more then they dont. i know i had quite a few 70 hour weeks. you dont have to do that if you dont want to and some departments never get those hours. most of the overly intoxicated times are in the beginning. people dont realize how quick alcohol effects you at such a high altitude and the result is never pretty. all things considered i absolutely love the rim and i cant wait to return. the craziness and the people(most of them) are part of its quirky charm. you either love it or hate it. i fell in love with that place so dont be worried about anything. you get to go to an amazing place and have an expierence worth having. promise

By the end of the season most of it has smoothed out and everything just go's with the flow. the parties and trouble makers are usually gone and by then the only thing u have is a few who you can tell need to go because there just b&*then and complaining to much. It usually slows down and it actually gets pretty fun. you get used to most of the people and you usually are to busy to notice most of the idiots any more. between work and exploring the rim, hikes and so on.
