How is the wireless connection for laptops at the NR? I use Skype if cell phone coverage is iffy. Thanks.
Jessica Comment by Jessica on February 2, 2009 at 4:00am
hey guys. cell phones are very iffy. but you do get good reception when you go to the lodge. however phone cards are also nice cause you can use them with the pay phone if it is late and dark. there is absolutely no reception in the housing area unless you walk through the woods quite a bit. employee lounge? not so much. the is an employee pub that serves beer and wine and during the day it is kinda like a living room. the dorms are a short walk to the lodge or campgrounds. but our shuttle will take you to both. we have older dorms and newer ones. most young adults and first timers will get the older ones. some returning employees, older employees, and some magement positions will get the newer ones. there are also cabins available for some management. hope that answers the questions just feel free to ask me if you have more

I did some research all over the internet, and it seems that the only cell phone provider with decent reception in the area is Alltel. As far as everything else goes, this will be my first time to the GC, so I don't know much else. Welcome to the group!

I am very curious about cell phone reception. I also hear there is an employee lounge for us. Is this true? How far is housing from the lodge and campgrounds. Just very curious about a few little things. No matter what I am very happy about working at the lodge this summer and meeting some really nice folks.

I am thinking of working for Forever Resorts again this summer. Not sure yet about the North Rim. If Rich is Asst. GM again I will probably pass on the North Rim and maybe do Signal Mountain instead. My resume and app is in now with Signal Mountain.
