For me it is three things. See a whale. Catch a salmon. And hopefully get to see the northern lights. I am also super excited about all the cool fishing trips I will get to do working with Gwins. A... Continue

Initial Packing is done! It only took me most of last night and all of this morning...my "leave" pile is FINALLY much larger than my "Take" Pile...and everything fits, without going over weight limit. And it's pretty well organized! Got a few more things on my list, either to find, or go buy, and final loads of some laundry, but other than that, it's just making sure that everything else is taken care of around the house before I leave for FOUR MONTHS. Very excited to get up there and get this adventure started...Jealous of all of those who are already up there:)

Bonfires at night are a good thing. Watching the sun go down behind a mountain with new friends is a great feeling. Getting to help build something that will be around in 30 years that I can always comeback to and remember the building process is truly a great honor for me. As the days continue to get longer and longer the season draws closer with the rise of the sun. Still lots of work to be done in order to run a great show. With great leadership comes great results, I have no fear in regards to the results of our outcome. Hopefully the weather holds and we are able to finish the outside construction projects soon. If we see Al Gore up here someone is liable to slap him. Global warming must have taken the day off after it dumped 13 inches of snow on us in one afternoon six days before May. Oh well nice afternoon off with a trip to The Sunrise Cafe. Local watering hole and about the only place to go right now in the area. A foot of snow is apparently "not that much" to the average Alaskan driver and most are fine driving in it...so they say. It's a great time up here, see you all soon.

I'll be heading up to Gwin's Lodge on May 1 and wanted to get to know a few friends... Looking forward to working again in Alaska and meeting new people...

it's been like that in MN lately too -- bunch of snow yesterday, sunny and 45 degrees today...I won't be shocked if we get a May blizzard this year. I'm hoping for snow in AK when I get there too, just to see it!

Sounds like ohio weather... today it was like maybe the high 60s. Then the newcasters were mentioning something about snow this week.

Well it seems that spring is on it's way here in Cooper Landing. The daytime temps have started to hit the mid 50's by late morning. The snow is almost all gone now, and the skeeters are starting to bite. Even the birds are starting to chirp. What a beautiful place this is!

Well I made it to anchorage...very cold and snowing. The flight in was amazing, the mountains in canada were very pretty and then the mountains as you first get into anchorage are just grand! Got checked into my hostel just outside of the airport, very nice friendly place. Highly recommend it if you need a cheap place to stay the night. Google spenard international hostel and you will find it. Only 21 bucks for the night, and only a 7 dollar cab ride from the airport. Will start taking pictures tomorrow, as It has been a long day and my body is still on Missouri time.
