Hey all! Just wondering if anyone has worked at Wahweap Marina. Im looking to know if they're a decent place to work for, what housing is like, food, or anything you can tell me... it would be greatly appreciated! :)
Well it's a very busy place. Lots of tour buses coming and going. Nearby is Page, AZ which is a tourist town next to the Navaho nation. Otherwise its a 1-2 hour drive to civilization - St George or Vegas.
It's gets VERY HOT there, It's a desert environment - which is one reason I left. The housing consists of dorms and old trailers. I was disappointed that there was not hot breakfast available when I briefly worked there in 2008. There is also a nearby coal powered electric power plant that caused my asthma to act up. Aramark is a big company, so don't expect a wam cozy home environment as you could find with a small company.
Aramark does havde some benefits for employees like raft trips and boat rentals, but you cannot use the Resort facilities and there are limits on the number of alcoholic beverages emplyees can purchase. Its a mixed bag at Lake Powell - so give it a try, but make sure you have your own transportation.
Thanks Joseph. I was wondering about breakfast b/c on the website they do not say whether they offer it or not. Do they have cold breakfast, or just have to get your own? Also, do you know if they have couples housing, b/c I will be coming with my gf?
