New Job Posts OR the “I wish MT’s had their own searchable category!” thread... 2 Replies

I'm wondering if we can start a discussion about new MT job postings? Does anyone else find it kind of hard to find massage jobs, specifically, across the various CW post categories?

I sent a friend request to every MT on Coolworks!

If you got one, I wasn’t necessarily trying to “friend” you specifically, it was the only way I could invite all the massage therapists to this group! :)My apologies, in advance, if this might be…Continue

Cruise ship jobs

I’d like to start a discussion about smaller cruise ship lines. I.E. other than the major corporate lines. I think the issues of working for them have been fully covered, other places on the web. What…Continue

I work in Canada summers and I live in Florida the rest of the year.  I work at a 5 Star fishing resort on a remote island.  I had a hard time finding someone to work 6 of the 12 weeks up there, but, did find someone.  It is a great company to work for.  If anyone has questions about how that works or can answer a few of mine.  I go through customs, get signed up for taxes.  Already have the work permit.  What % of taxes do they take out?  How and when do apply to get some of them back?

Good luck with that Thomas... I am working in Zion National Park right now til november 30.. they do not have Massage at the lodge, I am a hostess.. actually I have not practiced in around three years.. as I took a break due to energetic reasons....considering returning to school for other healing related modalities, possibly some form of coaching or teaching. Anyway, good luck with Palm Springs.. my old spring break haunt from the 70's...lol...

Prince William sound cruises is a wildllife/Glacier tour.. it is a small boat and only day trips.. they do not have Massage Therapists.... it is not a cruise line.  they run two trips a day out in the sound to see the hundreds of Glaciers and the wildlife. Also, Whittier is this really teeny tiny little place where they are based... 400 year round people..... kind of funky....

Thanks so much Dawna & Welcome!

(P.S. Does Prince William sound Glacier Cruises happen to have massage & hire MT's directly by chance? Are they out of the US or Can? Please C-thread above! :) )

Hey Thomas thanks for the invite, and I did add you as a friend.  I did Massage once on a seasonal basis for Mckinley Village lodge in Denali.  Prior to that they had never had anyone in house.  I enjoyed it, yet they really misled me.. in many ways... unfortunately most of the guests were one nighters on cruise ship layover's and had no time for Massage.. most of my clients were either locals or staff, and since Princess had a long standing reputation and were in town, they had more business. Despite that I liked it.. the pay wasn't great.. they gave me a base salary plus 30% of the rate... I have done better when i did it on my own... anyway, thank you for starting this group.. this summer i am headed back to Alaska as a Marine Science Instructor deckhand for Prince William sound Glacier Cruises..my other passion, I am going to look for some Massage work once I am settle there.. I was there last summer as well, except at the Seward Location for Kenai Fjords Wildlife tours..I would like to get a Massage Job next winter though.
