Hi all. I'm going to be the lone IT tech at MPL this summer. I'm going to be flying up next week. Anyone else going to be there this early?

I meant 12:40pm haha... sorry. But I much rather would have a overnight flight, getting up at 3am to go to the airport is a pain.

haha ryan, sounds like you chose better than me... I'm leavin San Diego at 6:30am. I'm just gonna try to catch ZzZz's on the flight up to Seattle, only a 40 minute layover in seattle, I think my other flight is scheduled to arrive in Alaska at like 12:40(AK time) 1:40(PDT), all on May 7th... its about 7 hours of flight time, dont forget the time zone! I'm sure to be a little too excited to sleep the night before, and having to get up at 3am to make sure everything is packed and ready is gonna be a brutal. But the experience is going to be well worth it!!!

Yeah, I had the same problem. Either I'd get there to late or spend twelve hours in an airport. So I opted to fly in on the sixth and stay at either a Holiday Inn or Marriot. I can't remember which. I figure it'll give me a chance to rest rather than fly for over a day, ride a bus for two hours, unpack, try not to be grumpy, then try to get a good nights sleep in a strange place, and get up early to work the next day, no thanks. Besides, nothing like a little sightseeing to kick off a new adventure. Anyways, from what I read, most of the hotels near the airport offer shuttle rides.

There isn't a hotel at Ted Steven however there is a Holiday Inn Express down the street. I believe they offer shuttle rides to and from the airport at no charge.

Who are you looking at to fly on? I've found a few that come in right after two (of course) as well as several that come in early in the morning. Does anyone know if the airport in Anchorage has a hotel inside it, like MIA does. It would work out well if it did, as getting in late on the 6th is a lot cheaper than getting in before 2 on the 7th. Or at least so I've found.

Gah, I didn't see you said AM, there were some flights that came in about 20 minutes before the bus is supposed to get us, but another couple popped up that came in around noon.
Also, T-mobile doesn't get service there, it had to use AT&T, but it didn't charge me for roaming, which was surprising because I've got a data plan. AT&T came in quite well, by the way.

I had a problem with finding one that got there before the bus should be there, but I had to settle for the 12:40 flight.
