Solid tan? I thought it was black? Would ladies' Dickies be alright? So for the shoes, just black closed toe, flat dress/work shoes? I need to go clothing and shoe hunting.

Other interesting facts about MPL's remotness:
We are 45 min from an atm
(or were untill we installed one at the lodge last season)
We are an hour and a half from the nearest traffic signal,
bank, walmart, and belive it or not McDonalds
We are two and half hours from the nearest Mall,
major chain restaurants, or a major movie theatre

Glad you liked the slideshow Lisa, the post office pictured is actually the one in Trapper Creek our closest town, about 20 min away. It's a great great town and a very very small town. Talkeetna is actually about an hour away as you have to travel south 45 min and then back north on a spur road for 15 min

Jason, the slideshow has a up close and personal feel. I especially like the photo of the state of the art post office in bustling downtown Talkeetna!(:
I love Alaska more and more all the time. Looking forward to meeting ya there!!

So I put together another slideshow of MPL. I thought all the new folks might be interested in seeing photos of the main lodge, the restaurants, and more of employee housing. I hope y'all enjoy

Hey everyone, I'm looking forward to a great time this summer. Anyone one from the Chicago area in this group? Also any tips for newcomers to the lodge?

We provide some of the uniform. If you are a room attendant, you need to bring with you pants. The pants need to be a solid tan color. You can purchase them at Wal-Mart in Alaska the day you arrive if you wish.
