MarySue...NQCR is actually one of the larger guest ranches. For example, I worked 4 winter seasons in AZ...and our staff was half that size. I'm 50 now, sometimes I was almost the oldest, sometimes in the middle. Sometimes you will have some of those 'when I was your age' moments, but most likely you'll not feel like a parent. One of the best compliments you can get is when you ask them if they are sure they want to party with someone as old as their parents. And they say, oh, yeah, I forgot. NQCR has a good rep in the business. You'll work hard...but you should also have a great time. Ride whenever you get the chance.

New to seasonal work,Has anyone worked at any small dude guest ranches? The one I will be at has a crew of 18, mostly college aged kids.I plus one other will be the oldest at age 45,starting May21/ Sept31,2012. I'm hoping I don't have to act as a parent, any ideas as to what to expect?

Hey Ed!  Still a little early for me to be looking for any jobs.  I still work full-time and haven't retired. I just like to keep in touch, learn tips and lessons from all of you seasoned park workers. I appreciate any and all tips you send my way.  Enjoy your new employment in KY.
