Hello!
Just joined and wondering where a good place to start would be. Here is the skinny: My hubby, who is from the Republic of Georgia and whose English is limited, and myself, born in France, lived in Oregon 30 or so years (still have kids there). We live in France right now. I have been a teacher, he has too, among our many qualities..We are respectively 51 and 50. We would like to work in winters, with kitchen duties, making salads, etc...Any ideas? I have applied for us at Yellowstone, and with Xanterra in other places. Some other places seen on Coolworks.com too. How can we find a good spot so my hubby's first impression of working in the US is not a bad one?
Thanks for your input!

Hi Connie, I start working at Tower store on August 3rd. Any advice for this newbie? I see that a fan is a must, any thing else? Hi Barb!

Anyone in the "older & bolder" group working in Zion this season? How are the accommodations? I will be applying next season. B

I'll keep you all posted about Acadia/Maine. Never been - looking forward to something different and have plans to explore Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island when I am finished.

I'm leaning towards in NE again too next season. Maybe Acadia, maybe the Oakland House if they open fully.

Chriistinia and others working in the NE this summer. Iwould like to go ther next year. Now I am Mt Rushmore working for Xanterra, the food is good, the staffis great, the company is considerate of employees and the Dorm is better than I expected. They hire a lot of Older and Boulder. I love it needless to say.

Aggie - you're where I first wanted to go this summer. Last fall I was offered to work at Bridge Bay at the end of my season at east; but had to leave for home and I thought I'd get it this summer, but they had to switch some folks around and I missed out. Love the area. Going to Acadia, Maine instead but will probably try next summer again. Keep me posted - you can write direct champ12127@aol.com if you'd like. Have a great summer. I'm sure I will miss Y-stone but know I will love exploring a new place and meeting new people.

Just a note to you Older and Bolder types around Yellowstone this summer. Let me know where you are and how to get a hold of you, and we can get together to compare the meds we all take :-) Those with the most pills wins! You can visit me at Bridge Bay Marina (DNC asks that you BUY something...please) or give me a ring at 713-898-6407 (free call if you have Verizon).
