It's gonna be quiet a change going from warm sunny 85 degree FL and swimming in the ocean to 17 degrees!! I'm sooo ready for it though!!! See you soon.... thanks for the updates Carol

Well, I'm glad I brought warm layers. This morning it was 17 degrees. I got all my uniform on, but tights underneath the plaid pants we cooks and servers wear. I have a large fleece hoodie, so that goes over my chefs hat and chefs jacket. You have to be ready when you arrive, so all this is done in the dorm, then you walk about 7 minutes to work. the washers and dryers are nice. Bring soap cause all the stores are still closed (I did, so that is good) Nothing else I can think of. Drive safe...still lots of snow up here. :D

Hey Carol-

Thanks for the updates. I'll be leaving on Wednesday, arriving Saturday for Lake! Is there anything you would reccommend I bring, something you wish you had now? Keep us posted, and can't wait to see you!
Carol Comment by Carol on April 30, 2009 at 6:47am
yes, I've met some of the maintanence guys, and I'm in the golden eye dorm. Looking forward to your arrivals. I probably wont be seeing anyone for awhile unless they are working at Lake.

If you're looking for a workout and want to spend time with the locals come join us for the 30th Annual Park to Paradise Triathlon Saturday, May 2nd. It starts north of Gardiner and ends in Gardiner. The P2P is a rite of spring - an annual highlight. Details here.
