Hey Aggie:

the company that I work for hires both Customer Service and Retail and drivers. The drivers need to already have their cdl... I do not know about the training.... Customer service is checking people in for boat trips and phones etc... I like the company... housing is okay, yet most are super young and normally they pair you up... that is the only fault... I am the Resident Advisor at housing so I lucked out with my own room. otherwise I have been very happy. Also, there is Major Marine Tours who do the same thing as us, yet I know nothing about their housing... I think they are on here as well. For both you can go to their website and go to the bottom where it says employment and just apply directly online. Our company is one of the many native owned corporations in Alaska and so far so good. There are also a few lodges up here and small hotels.... Seward Windsong Lodge is ownded by the same company as us (CIRI.COM) AND THEN THERE ARE SEVERAL SMALL HOTELS, HOTEL SEWARD, THE BREEZE INN, THE EDGEWATER... AND WE ALSO HAVE OUR WILDERNESS LODGE ON FOX ISLAND WHICH HIRES SUMMER STAFF. THERE YOU WORK A 10/4 AND THEY BOAT YOU BACK AND YOU HAVE ROOMS ABOVE OUR WAREHOUSE.. OTHERWISE THE HOUSING IS ON THE ISLAND WHICH IS AN HOUR OUT IN THE BAY FROM SEWARD... I HOPE THAT HELPS... PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ANYTHING ELSE..

So Dawna ... if I want to work in Seward AK next summer, what's my best bet for jobs? I will be 61 years old, have retail and customer service experience in Yellowstone, project mgmt and sales experience from Houston. I think I would be great at a tour desk job, with second choice being working retail. I would also consider being a shuttle driver if CDL training is available. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the pix. I needed an Alaska fix.
