Brooke, I arrive at Denali NP on April 24. My job doesn't start until April 29. Any suggestions on what I should do April 25,26,27 and 28? I was thinking a road trip (or rail trip) to Seward but that might be better later in the season. Let me know what you think. Richard
i cant believe how many people from michigan are going up there!!! I will be working at the 20,320 restaurant at mt mckinley!! not sure if you are close to there!! Maybe we will meet eachother up there!! this going to be a great experience, my first time to Alaska! do you have a lay over in Chicago?
hey brooke! i am from cheboygan, MI going to school currently in marquette at northern michigan university. i will be moving up to trapper creek this summer, working at mckinley princess wilderness. i'll be in denali a lot camping and hiking, so maybe i will see you around.
The Kevins and Stu (the owner, his son and manager) are all great to work with and for. Basically do your job and everything is pretty laid back. First vision of "Shantytown" is a bit of a put-off, but the place really grows on you. 49th St. opened up in Healy last year...it's a bar that's owned by the Salmon Bake people...with somewhat better prices, similar entertainment and not as many tourists. Let's see...Any specific questions?
