My doctor gave me a full clearance and I can't wait to work again. You seasonal people know how it is, the lure of working in beautiful places with people of like minds.
I hope to be back in Yellowstone soon, just need the Paper. Like Ron, I ask everyone to cross your fingers for me, hoping to be back in the Park soon, the season is slipping away, seems like.
Ok, friends, that's my post, hope to have great news this week.

I've had alot of crazy stuff happen lately, among them a serious surgery which totally prevented me from taking my job in Yellowstone. HR understood completely, staying in touch with me as my doctors put me on 6 weeks medical leave, which includes no bending or twisting my back, and no lifting any weights over of 10 pounds. A gal can't cook under those restrictions.
Serious Bummer!
I missed working preseason at Snowlodge, and now, I'll miss Lake Lodge, and I do mean miss. If…

I'm currently writing a novel, the first book in a trilogy is already published over at Kindle. Its fun, and I'm having a great summer. A friend told me about this when I worked in the Grand Tetons last May. I've already uploaded my other books and made money.
But, I'm thinking about Alaska now. I think its all Aggies fault.
I know several who are having a blast in Alaska, Anne, are you out there? My main question is housing. Found out I am a very light…
ContinueI meant to say; computing is a distraction, or addiction for me. If you cook lasagna and chocolate chip cookies I'll be right over!!!! I enjoy what this lifestyle and the freedom to travel, the variety of jobs duties helps also. The Alaska Gold Rush sounds good. I've watched a few of episodes on TV, think it was the History channel. I would have to win a lottery to afford the initial startup. I read somewhere about an RVer who was doing some panning in Georgia, he wouldn't disclose the location, however. This was posted on a forum about metal detectors. Now! How do I get some of your home-cooked food? Oh; Thanks, nice to have another friend. Ed
I looked at your blog. Interesting and I'll have to read more. Computing id nice, but a distration! LOL! My Motorhome is 27' foot long on a 1987 Ford Van chassis, a fossil-fuel burning monster 7.5l engine that get just a shade over 7 MPG. I only put less than 5K miles a yr. on it. Maintenance costs aren't too bad, but when an appliance or parts wears out it can be costly. Started the W-Camp gig back in 1998 and in 01 to 09 worked as a golf cart technician until the economy caused the collapse of that job. Luckily, located employ with a camping resort for barter. Then in May 2010, acquired my 1st part-time paying job and space with hookups. Ever since have found employ for at least 10 of the 12mos. Takes a lot of research for a single guy to find employ as most like 2 workers for each space, 2x hours worked for the employer and 2x wages for the workers. My duties vary; Amusement park games attendant, golf cart and small engine repairs and vehicle maintenance, grounds maintenance, painting, and park cleanup. you can find My Page on here also, but message me back anytime. I am trying to work the correct link to my blogspot from here. I would like to add you as a friend. Have Safe Travels! Ed
Larry Rainey said… Carol, I have a question. A friend of mine has applied in Yellowstone and they came back with a EDR offer (not what they applied for). As far as hours and stuff like that could you give me an idea what they should expect. My e-mail is larrycrainey@bellsouth.net. Thanks for your help!
Sunni said… I now have 7 of your books on my kindle...1 of these days you will have to explain how you got amazon to sell your books.
Sunni said… I just got your book "My Journey to Freedom and Ultralight Backpacking". I'll let you know what I think of it when I am done reading it.
Larry Rainey said… Carol, I wonder if I might pick your brain for some advice. I live in Loganville, Ga and go thru Clayton all the time to my cabin near Maggie.I have applied for several jobs in Yellowstone. 1) campground positions 2) Yellowstone fondation 3) Delaware North adventure stores. I have a 5th wheel. In your opinion which job would be the most attractive and should I take my camper or stay in park housing. I'm a retired teacher and have traveled a lot but never worked in a park but want a change of pace and more time in yellowstone. I have been on four summer trips and one winter trip to YNP. My e-mail is larrycrainey@bellsouth.net. Any info would really help with my decision and I really don't know where to get sound advice on this. Thanks, Larry
