I know I haven't been around to places as much as some of you cool workers, but I'm hoping that will change soon.
I’ll tell you where I have been. In 1977 a year after High School I hitch hiked across Canada with my cousin Bob. We started in British Columbia and got plenty of rides all the way till the Manitoba and Ontario boarders where we had to split up and venture alone till we could meet back up in New York.
Then back to Missouri Valley Iowa in 1978 and it didn’t take long to get the heck out of that area. Having lived most of my young life in New York at that time Iowa just didn’t appeal to me.
In 1980 I headed up to Alaska to work on a floating processor in Old Harbor. Old Harbor is about 125 miles West of Kodiak and the only way to get there is to fly in or boat in. I flew in on a four seatier, single propellor airplane and what a rush flying over the inner snow-covered mountains of Kodiak Island hitting air pocket that let the plane drop about 20 feet at a time thank God for seat belts. After a year I headed down to Oregon where I stayed for 24 years and raised my daughter till she graduated and got married. Now this is how Coolworks works for me because between seasons I’m able to spend time with my daughter and her husband and of course the little rug rat while traveling from job to job and experiencing different area of the country. The last couple of years I have become free of all my responsibilities and now that I have established that freedom I have the need to travel and experience some of the beauty that this great country has to offer. I been mostly in Wyoming and last winter in Montana but I’ll venture off into other areas.
I meet a great friend this summer named Eric. Eric is twenty years less my age has seen more then I have in my life so far. He was raised in England, lived and owns a house in Eastern Europe he also has immediate family in Ohio. Eric is a left wing Ratical Liberal that likes to express his views via books and videos and turns others onto the secrets of the Government conspiracy. Now we all know that somethings are not right out there but you have to take everything with a grain of salt, the left side and the right side then from your own opinion.
Eric has all these rich tales of his travels in Eastern Europe that fascinates me. Well maybe Eastern Europe might be the place for Eric but I'm thinking more like South America for now. I always wanted to go see the Mia and Aztec temples. I also been tossing the thought of getting a sail boat and heading down the West Coast hitting Resort ports along the way finally ending up at South America. That’s my goal for the next five years save up enough money to buy a sail boat and head down south.

Profile Information

Hometown:
Newport, OR
About Me:
I was born in Huston, TX, and I grew up on L.I.N.Y. after 11 years my family did a 180 and moved to the Oregon Coast which is where I lived for 26 years. I have the best daughter in the world (Sarah). She got married in 2003 has a little girl (McKenna) yes I'm a grandpa. I love to visit them all on my time off between seasons, thats why I'm a coolworks seasonal worker it allows me about 2-4 months out of the year to visit them and other family member and old friends. Only the Lord knows everyone can only put up with me for a short time. I also spend a month in the fall camping in the deep woods mushroom pickking mushrooms on the Oregon Coast. While at home I like to ride mountian bike, or go steel head fishing. I truly love bouncing from job to job from season to season and seeing new places and faces. I was once called a Hobo and took offense to it but I guess if the shoe fits I'll have to wear it.

A-Bar-A Ranch
