Let's get together this Spring (I arrive April 10) and I can give you some idea of places to see while you are in the area. My cell is 713-898-6407.
If you like hiking you might start by making a goal to hike all the trails at Mesa Verde (there are only about 8) Prater Ridge in Morefield Campground is the longest at about 8 miles. Probably the "best" trail at Mesa Verde is the Petroglyph Point Trail on Chapin Mesa (near the museum and just down the road from the Far View Terrace store/buffet). Other ones I like are Point Lookout (Morefield) and Petroglyph Point. I've done them all ... many more than once. Plenty of hikes outside the Park as well.
Cheryl congratulations on your new adventure! Where are you working? I skimmed over your page and I noticed "South Rim" is that the Grand Canyon?
Thanks for Kindling my book! If you have the Kindle Prime Membership it's listed for free, but it's a bargain price regardless!
