Hi Chris, I've never been to Shenandoah, but I'd love to go. I think that any experience you have in a national park will satisfy your love of hiking, exploring and photography. Go for it! Kari : )

I was a manager so had my own room above the lodge, but with a view of a kitchen fan (noisy). The park is nice, but nothing like Yellowstone, Glacier or the others I've worked in. The people were nice. I didn't see the dorms so sorry I can't help you. Have a great time.
